Niccolò Tramontana, Radio Safari: The Trippin’ Sessions

The effect of Covid19 on my work is huge because the pandemic made me actually begin my work.

I was an aspiring musician turned workaholic by Milan’s hectic lifestyle, making my way as an event production manager, when the lockdown began and stopped everything I was working on. Moreover, I was actually found positive to SARS-COV-2.

After being hospitalized for some days, I was released and began my recovery quarantined in a small house; I couldn’t leave for any reason, even emptying the trash outside was illegal for me until I tested negative, which only happened two months after.

I realized this was the time to get back to music and to my personal projects but an interest in nature and biology had grown in the last years and was too strong to tame and exploded into the urgency of making something different, something that would express what I love and that could get others to become passionate about animals and nature.

Radio Safari then started as a podcast for local online radios born as a reaction to Milan’s quarantine, and became the most interesting expression of what I feel important to communicate.

ONE IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THE SKIPPY LISTENER:

THE FIRST SECONDS OF THE PROGRAM ARE IN ITALIAN BUT THE CONTENT IS ALL IN ENGLISH AFTER THAT

Niccolò Tramontana:

Radio Safari is a series of audio-documentaries about animals and their sounds. Episode by episode we discover the calls and songs of animals inhabiting a unique global location, exploring the reasons why an animal produces a specific sound, from an evolutionary and anatomical purpose.

We also explore the purpose of sound for different species and how languages develop and are expressed in non-human worlds.

The Trippin’ Sessions of Radio Safari were born to let you swim into the soundscapes with a bit less talking and a lot more chirping!
